A partridge my friend spotted and I decided I would shoot this one. Shot with my 12 guage. Didn't have a single bb on its breasts. I love the looks of the feathers on the bird so I'm going to have it done like you would on a turkey. Woulda been a beautiful bird to mount the whole thing. But havent made a hunting video in a while and this weekend is bow/muzzle hunting. So I'm hoping at least one of us will get a shot at one.

  • what kind of camera do you use????

  • @midwesternoutdoors Umm its a sony blue camcorder.. not sure of the actuall name but the video screen flips 180 deg and its 60x zoom..it was like 210

  • Nice bird, but I seen one a lot bigger a couple weekends ago up here in Maine. I swear that thing was 20in. tall! I didn't shoot because I was too far off and thought it was a baby turkey, but as I got closer I see it was a partridge. I hunt em a lot too. Congratz on your first bird. I've only got 15 this year, which isn't very good for as much as I hunt em haha.

  • @MrCoonTrapper ha yeah I dont hunt them very often. There isn't that many down in vermont. I know my uncle owns a camp up in Wilson mills, Maine idk if you know where that is. But he sees partridge all the time when he goes up there. good luck to u!

  • Nice! I've never shot a partridge. I might hunt them a a time or two after muzzy. I've seen a bunch this year.

  • @NateSmead Yeah this is only my first bird.. well shot alone that is. the first year I had my license when i was a youngen, my dad and I both shot a partridge. I shot the first time and he finished it off for me. But this was a beauty of a bird, just the feathers and what not. He had been feeding on tons of buds before I shot him. He had a little salad in his stomach ha.
