I completely sympathize with you. :( I always felt so bad for Hunter with his ear infections. He only had 4 before he was 12 months, but it took us until he was 10 months old to find out he was allergic to dogs (and we had two). It took another two months to make the decision to get rid of them. Ugh. It wasn't until his last ear infection that the urgent care dog we had been seeing suggested allergy testing, finally. Who knew?! As a first time mom, then, I sure didn't.

The red rash that started om his face is viral, the one on his bum was yeast

hey! My daughter had the same viral infection with a red rash all over her chest. She still have a very few of patches left. Her doctor said that it may takes more weeks for the rash to go. But the viral infection itself is gone. Its a month now since the patches appeared.

My daughter had one like that too over the summer time, it took about 5 weeks to go away. Her's was very visible though since it was during the summer and she stayed hot, it was always prominent. His though I suppose since it's cold, u can almost never see his. It's almost gone looking though. It's been 4 weeks & ur daughter still has it?

Yes. She had her six month check up yesterday. I ask her doc, and he said as long as the patches are disappearing, its okay. I did notice that when she is hot it is more seen. Oh, by the way. Do you think feeding your son in a more upright positon would help some of the fluid from backing up in his ears. My doctor told me that milk can drain to the ears and cause some of the congestion if the baby is being fed to flat. Just a tip, because I can understand about the worries you are facing.

We have hear yes & no when it comes to breast fed babies being fed while laying down. No1 seems to have a for sure answer...So it can't hurt to feed upright which is now what we are doing.

That is exactly how I felt about tubes with my son. People thought I was crazy for being so against a routine procedure.

Glad I'm not the only one.... I know chances are pretty high that if we can make it to 1 year he won't need them, and even more so for him, if we can just get through this winter then we really won't need the tubes. I feel pretty sure about that. My daughter was the same way.... We made it through her first winter (when she turned 1) and she didn't get her next infection until last week. A year later. But hers were never as bad as his either though.
