@d3ltadrive Let me guess: Valdez? lol that place has been known to get dumped on. 2011 was pretty bad though in Northern California. 700 inches of snow fell on Donner Pass, we were snowboarding on 8 feet of snow in July. If only every year were like that lol
@mysuper64 La Nina. There was a shift for the east coast, but this is just the calm before the storm. Next year will make 2010 and 2009 combined look like nothing. It will probably be looking like the winter that Alaska is having this year in terms of snow. One town got 18 FEET of snow, no not inches but FEET. Some homes were completely covered in snow, people are having to get food from their attic windows. This is what we could potentially be looking at for next year.
@Barotropic lol In the west you can see as much as 40 inches of snow for every inch of water. I'd take that statement with the whole shaker of salt.

Take the statement " snow only piles up to about an inch of liquid" with a grain of salt! Snow to liquid water ratios are highly variable.
