http://www.DadLabs.com - Parents learn right away that their baby does not barf, puke or vomit. Instead, the remnants left from baby feeding that most of us refer to as throw up is called "spit up". Is leaving a bit of baby spitup on your shoulder a good career move? If not, how can you get the gross stuff off? (Hint: Those burp cloths you get at baby showers help.) To understand why babies spit up so much, Daddy Clay and Daddy Brad get Baby 411 author and pediatrician Ari Brown to set us straight. Also, learn how to keep it from happening too often and what your cleanup options are. DadLabs Ep. 337 The Lab. Brought to you by OxiClean Baby.

  • forget burping... my daugher used to projectile spit up... all over me... she'd be spotless and I'd need a new shirt... once we switched to soy, though, it was all good.

  • You have no idea. I've had to throw away carseats on the way home from restaurants before... I won't go into details of the Great Shrimp Ball Debacle (parts one or two). Or the Bob Evans Fiasco. No. Because that would be enough to spoil anyone's dinner. And it's always dinner somewhere. ;-)

At one point, I was going through so much OxiClean Baby that I was on the mail order auto-delivery list. No kidding. Thankfully, those days are over...

  • I don't think the good Doctor should have warned future parents not to "play helicopter" with babies after they have eaten. That is really a rite of passage that all parents need to experience for themselves at least once! It also provides occasion for some good snarky laughs from us parents "in the know".

So to all you new parents out there: Be sure to play helicopter with your baby after feeding time! And also be sure to videotape it and post it right here on YouTube!
