Day Two of the Yellow Jacket Extraction: I hit the nest as planned, full of brood and thousands of stinging yellow jackets. Unlike honey bees yellow jackets form their hives in the ground, produce little honey, not known to be good pollinators, yield very little honey, vicious sting and rob honey from local honey bee hives. So why are they here? Why are mosquitos here? A successful yellow jacket extraction without using harmful air-born pesticides. I call that having a good day!
