Love this old video and would love to see Detroit become beautiful again. IThe fall of Industry is what hurt Detroit and the loss of jobs which affected everyone white and black. Why dont we stop always letting race enter in to everything and live as people. There are bad white people and there are bad black people and there are many good people in these races too. The world would be a better place if we just all learn to get along.

For those who as in Cassapolard who cannot spell, yet accused me of not knowing my history......Michigan was the benchmark of another industry that fell to the wayside besides the automobile industry. At the turn of the 20th century ( 1880's-1920's) most of the furnishings in homes came from the great state of Michigan. All of the gorgeous old oak antiques were made there. Google it.

To those if have posted in wonder of what the city looks like now. Detroit itself was in planning stages to raise ( tear down) over 1/3rd of the city that includes some of the most amazing landmarks and architecture. They call it city renewal which will only displace many elderly that have lived there for generations who will be forced from their homes and allow rentals on other properties to rise to an unaffordable level to those who are out of work or living on a fixed income.
