Paulina & Jake at the Cory Pool

From approximately April 1992. Paulina goes for a sunset swim in the Cory pool in an attempt to get her mind off Jake, only to have Jake show up and try to convince her to give them a real chance. Paulina tries not to act like she's affected by Jake, but she is, even slipping on the pool deck when she first tries to get out of the pool and having Jake help her out the next time. Jake brushes off the fact that Paulina is dating Kevin, saying those two don't have a prayer of a chance, and tells her that she's the one who made him believe that he could have a life beyond anything he ever thought was possible for him, but that he can't do it without her. Paulina tells Jake he's tried to seduce her with words before, and he's not going to do it again, and runs into the poolhouse, leaving Jake out by the pool, frustrated that he was so close to a breakthrough with Paulina and it didn't happen.
