The 13 stripes signify the 13 british colonies, and the flag comes from the british east india company. The original had the british flag in the top right corner. Can you send me a link on where you got your info from? Thanks.

Great video! I've always wondered what the older constellations of stars looked like. But the 48th state entered the Union in 1912. Why do you list the 48th star as 1931?

Thanks for your comments. It's possible I just made an error. I did double check my facts from two different sources, but that doesn't mean one source didn't take it from the other wrong source. My memory from a year ago is not so good, but is it possible the state entered in 1912 and the star wasn't put on the flag till 1931? I hope so, for my sake! Hahah. Thanks again.
