@Formulabruce Yeah, it was until the John Deere 3520. Of course the 1050 was a 3 cylinder not 4, but has a very odd and distinct sound. It is NOTHING like the new Yanmar diesel engines...it's quieter.

The 1050 has a Yanmar 3 cyl turbodiesel rated at 38 hp gross, 33 hp PTO and 28 hp drawbar.

nice rig, I see that model as a collector/restorer piece in the future. Its the only compact utility tractor with a turbo 4 cyl engine ever made by JD, that I know of) I have a 990 ( 4 cyl 41 hp) which is a combo of the 1070 and 970 I was told.
