I wonder why the gunshots from Steve Parent's murder didn't alert the rest of the people in the house.

If somebody was shot multiple times in MY driveway I would be like WTF and call 911 as well as grab one of our own guns for self defense.

But then again, I have stories like THIS one to even make me a gun owner to begin with.

Everyone of these should be banged up forever. Just because they took drugs is no excuse. All these people were free to go at any time ,as stated themselves. They may have been brain washed, but everyone is taught from a young age what is right, and what is wrong. These are just sicko's and I hope they all die a horrible death. Abigail Folger DID try to run away. I don't think that I need to explain to you how that turned out. Those who died are the "victims". They can't be blamed for being unable to get away. They were innocent people. They were caught off-guard. They were brutually & viciously slaughtered. It was horrific. However, the very worst part was that innocent, unborn baby. He was only a couple of weeks shy of being born. Just try to imagine what that would be like if he were your baby. RIP Mom, baby

While I'm sure the Manson family wasn't the first home invasion resulting in death in American, it was certainly the most publicized and notorious - - its almost as if there is a clearly defined pre-Manson killings and post-Manson killings recognition in the American culture....like people have kind of felt uneasy ever since that occurrence...even amongst people not even born when it happened!

@imacceptingbut From what I remember reading, it was an isolated house with a very long driveway. I think the killers ran into Steve Parent at the end of the driveway which is where they shot him so maybe it was too far away for the victims to hear the gunshots. Also, this was before 911 or cell phones existed. The killers had cut the phone wires to the house and no victim had a gun to defend themselves. No one will ever know if the victims possibly heard gunshots or not. Very tragic event.

I have forgot some of things besides just the main murders but I'm glad that after watching more videos it's all refreshing my mind that now I do remember Atkins getting married which to me is wrong!!! and she has children!!! That's too much freedom in prison.

She got immunity from prosecution for testifying against Manson and the rest of them so but I know for sure she was only at the Tate's house.
