@kieman12 cause one crashed caused a nuclear explosion and now its to dangerous to have super sonic airliners...but fighter jets can go super sonic...

Essentially it was 'fixed' after it was put back in service (2001) with upgrades: Kevlar protection for the fuel tanks, explosion proof tires, etc.

There was a Concorde B model that was supposed to fly in the early 1980's with slight mods but was cancelled. The engines did away with afterburners, but produced even more thrust in military power...Fuel consumption issues essentially solved...
