McConnell is as sleazy as Tom Delay and the rest of the K Street crowd. Public financing for elections is the only way to go. If there is a way to get money to a political hack like McConnell, lobbyists will find it unless we stop them.

let's put our troops life's ahead of other's education, eh? Screw MP3 players, a guy that speaks the language and some pamphlets does JUST FINE and doesn't cost eight million dollars, IMHO

Hmmm...former McConnell aide raises $200K for McConnell, private corporation receives $8 million so a private corporation can profit off of spreading democracy. The problem is we're trusting this war and the spreading of democracy to private corporations, who are just as interested in maximizing profits as actually doing their job. I wonder how important it is to prove success, since it's probably cheaper to pay off career politicians like McConnell.

I dunno - it smells fishy. I mean 8.3 million for 'happy happy joy/joy' messages on an MP3 player vs. body armor for the troops?
All lies according to the Lexington Herald-Leader:
The technology that Voice for Humanity produces is limited only to messages and lessons about spreading democracy, as well as AIDS education, according to Herald-Leader and New York Times articles from December 2005.
Those players have been distributed to villages in Afghanistan and Nigeria.
The devices play only approved messages that are encrypted and decoded through the devices -- and not music, according to the organization's Web site.

It figures McConnelll would vote down body armor for the troops but would do a quid-pro-quo for his former staffer's company. Repubs, leaving our troops to rot while always going after the bucks for the special interests!
