5 hard shakes is all you need. also putting water in the ice will chill the martini glass twice as fast because it helps distribute the coldness to the entire glass.

Have you had schnapps without juice in your drink before? Its really compacted sugar. You need to water it down a bit, otherwise its too sweet for a lot of people.
