Love love this song.... Mario! Mario!

(To finish) ...so she kept yelping at me..."Who is that?" and I said a young felow named Mario Lanza and all she could say about 3 or 4 times in a row sitting in stunned disbelief. "Jesus, Mary and Joseph!" LOL to be sure.
Lanza had it all though. If you saw him live it was hard to describe, like he sort of hit your resonant frequency and mesmerized you. His voice, range, power and transitions to soft delivery were uncanny. None may ever quite be his equal

Great song performances return to one bearing great memories. It must have been about early '51 and this new fellow named Lanza hit the scene with his Be My Love recording. My Mother was an old Caruso devotee and we listened to old Edison cylinders of his and John McCormack and others. I came in with a new 78 of Lanza doing La Donna e Mobile and put it on. Halfway through my Mother got goose bumps and started having palpitations. I popped a garlic clove under her tongue and all was well again!
