Have you ever wondered why to this day, the Hannah vs- Howerton 1981 Massacre at Saddleback is still considered one of the most controversial motocross races of all time? • relixxx,

This project has nothing to do with HRP. Hannah Racing Products and HRP are completely separate.

just so you know, who the unbiased flick is coming from.

  • Let me educate you, mindless punk... Hannah, and others of his era, were the toughest, most fit and focused riders in the history of MX. Now go back and get on your XR100 and go trail riding. Ass.

  • J-Law isn't fit to polish Bob Hannah's balls.

  • 1:37 the grin of a champ!

  • Bob Hannah's the MAN! He was my MX hero as a kid. Now he lives 20mins from me. I'm friends with his sister. I see them all the time at my local airport cafe. I've had him sign lots of my old Hannah vintage MX goodies! Lucky me! I can't wait to see him again at the next airshow or mountain bike race!

  • Was there too, pretty cool .factory riders in the old Saddleback park in the foot hills of the OC.Saw Bob throw a boot at Kent on a small downhill double jump, these guys were pissed! Sounds like Bob still is! Oh well, that is racing!

  • I got Bob and Kent's autographs 7 days later at Lake Whitney, they didn't seem that mad by then. In the deeper sand of Whitney Bob's bike was no match for Kent's, so Kent won. They were both the two guys that stayed after the race until everyone had an autograph and were both great people. I was a 16yr old at the time. Thanks Bob. I still have your autographed team photo page from the day!

  • I was there at this race!! They had a wet t-shirt contest on the oval track between races! I will never forget that day.

  • Ditto on tbteam my "vote up" does not work!

  • @tbteam I definitely agree. The late 70's to the mid 80's were the best years ever in american motocross. No one guy really dominated like McGrath in the 90's and Carmichael last decade simply because there were too many good riders at the time. Each team had one of two contenders. Hannah said it best regarding the riders today. "Too many sissies". It used to be "You ram me, I ram you". Now it's "You ram me, I'll go tell mommy".

  • @75tm400 Broc won both years in San Diego.

  • If he touches me...im gonna brake his fuckin leg!!

    Fuckin outlaw!!!!the best!!!!

  • @PipelineDigitalMedia In those days HRP and Hannah Racing Products were in fact one and the same. Now HRP is just HRP as Bob "Hurricane" Hannah no long owns the license, but check the Incorporation Papers from the company from 1979 and you will see.
