Letapos;s be frank, in the world of comic books, there are alot of dudes. From readers and fans to creators, there is a large population of men associated with comic books. Recently some criticisms around the number of women employed in comics was raised, and it got us thinking...there are many talented women working in the world of comics. Women have been a creative force in comics since The Golden Age and that long, rich history continues today with many of the women creators that we spotlight in this episode. From established, superstar talents like Amanda Conner and Gail Simone, to the up and comers like Sara Pichelli and Becky Cloonan, the world of comic books is filled with talented women making some of the best comics today.

  • Nei Ruffino!!! She colors J. Scott Campbell's work on his calendars and also some of the zenoscope books as well..

  • Fiona Staples is one of the best artists in the business. Can't wait for her new ongoing with Brian K Vaughan.

  • i have to say i like more female ARTISTS than writers - conner, scott, cloonan, pia guerra, joelle jones etc. nearly half my favourite comic artists are women.

the one problem i HAVE with female writers like gail simone is that when they write a BAD book (and some of what she's written the last couple of years - the last 'birds of prey 'run for example - has stunk), there seems to be this double standard about criticism - like you can't negatively criticize her work because she's a woman.

  • @olliejudge lol it is completely irresistible

  • What about Janet Khan or Karen Berger? Two-big time names behind the scenes. An irregardless is redundant and shouldn't be a word!

  • I hate to be the douche but woo first view first comment
