@chrisjeffsmusic Yeah, but this riff, as you know, isn't on either of those versions. There's a riff that's been played over all three, though. The only thing they have in common otherwise is being in the same key, none of the other versions are syncopated like this.

@yehigota5inchtaint... Track 2 from Octahedron?? Nothing on my copy of his solo debut even resembles Teflon...

@chrisjeffsmusic Agreed. It wouldn't be the first time a song from an omar album became, or redone on a mars volta album. Track 2 from octahedron was on the 2005, omar rodriguez lopez selftitled lp. And also, it's hard to really draw a line between Omar Rodriguez Lopez projects and TMV. Omar rodriguez lopez band is ALWAYS Omar on guitar, Mercell on either keys, percussion, or drumkit, Juan Alderette on bass, Either Deantini, Theodore, Or Pridgen on kit(whoever it is is the current tmvdrumr

this song is on the vid "cedric trashes sasquash" too with better quality
no, it's not a new song.
It's a variation of one of Omar's solo tracks called Jacob Van Lennepkade. It's on two of his albums.
