This is it! The original performance of "It Takes Me Higher" by defunct Austrian proto-techno-punk (term I use for bands who didn't play disco, but had synthesizer knowledge and played punk-styled music) band Ganymed. This is my first upload, so don't shoot the messenger.

This is also the first time the original video has been uploaded in full, seeing as the other two are nothing more than half-arsed attempts at bringing it to fruition(one's half incomplete, the other's a badly done re-edit of the thing). So, here it is --- Ganymed's "It Takes Me Higher" (from a performance on ZDF's programme "Disco", on 1979.

  • 70's disco Gwar

  • @boozygrogy You do know that Gwar came after Ganymed, right? (Not that I'm complaining: I fucking love Gwar --- much better band than those stupid Mentors...)

  • Wish I could see the girl better, she appears to be very attractive.

I like all the guys with penis-nose masks, they remind me of Gonzo from the muppets.

The volume was too low for me

  • @PtolemyJones Luckily, someone has uploaded a full volume version of this. (i.e. The same video, but with the On-screen Graphic [logo] unblurred.)

  • @CrossCuntryFranco - dude no way, "GWAR is a group of demigods from various planets that have been exiled to this pathetic mudball for hundreds of billions of centuries".......totally predating Ganymed!

  • Also, The programme would be the German version of "Top of the Pops".

  • @VorbisOgg

    From a few years back:

"as I've mentioned, "Disco" was this programme showcasing music of the times which started in 1971. It's music wasn't even Disco... it was pop music. (Even the aforementioned Roxy Music played there, as well as two others: Human League and Yazoo.)"

  • "term I use for bands who didn't play disco" Erm, sounds like disco to me. It says "disco" on their drum kit and the show is called "Disco". This is certainly not "proto-techno-punk". It's about as disco as it gets. "Music drives me crazy" is much better.......

  • GAIKING ITALIAN OPENING LoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooL
