The South Carolina Senate subcommittee on the 2010 census redistricting was in Horry County for their ONLY public address in our area on March 4, 2011.
At Horry-Georgetown Technical College some 30+ citizens gathered to listen and voice our opinions on the upcoming district concerns. While the Carolina Patriots, Conservatives for Responsible Government and a few RNC folks were present other groups of concerned citizens in the area were noticeable absent from this only chance to be on the record.
Daniel S Cochran spoke for the Carolina Patriots on the need for our corner of the State's need to have the seventh district that South Carolina was recently awarded.
Dennis Disabato, Jr. spoke for the Carolina Forest area and CRG on the need for our corner of the State's need to have the seventh district.
Representative Thad Viers spoke on this same topic. He addressed the need to put back on the district maps a district similar to the old Pee Dee District 6 which would allow for a fair and balanced mix of both major parties to choose their next US House Representative. This is his address.
For those not present you can send in your written concerns and comments to the Senate subcommittee.
