In February 2009, Australia went into mourning after the most devastating bushfires in the nation's history. Listen to what four ordinary Aussies had to say about the tragedy that shook a nation. Listen to the It's Time To Talk programme in Port Macquarie each Thursday night from 8-10pm on 2WAY FM 103.9.

  • @HagsTheHorrible Oh god were you in it?

  • Comments like"...I think people are crazy to stay..." makes me angry. We had absolutely NO choice; there was NO warning. We had 7 minutes - it was fight or die. Repeat: 7 mins warning by a neighbour, not by authorities. We were vigilant all day - radio, website info, tv then all hell broke loose. We were well prepared just in case & saved our house but if people become complacent because they're told they'll be forced to evacuate then they will not have fuel driven hoses and taken by surprise.
