SASHA the Black CAT of THE FOREST in OLIVETTO, Bologna Italy!

This is the coolest cat I met in North Italy. She lives in the forest and the nuns of the local church feed her, along with a few others. Ever wonder what it would be like to hike in the forest with a cat walking alongside of you? It's great! Sometimes I just lay on the bench in the forest and she lays on the leaves besides me, for hours. No talking, just inhaling the fresh air and listening to the wind and birds in the trees. She's a feral cat, not really have a human home to speak of, but is feed by the nuns and the people of the little village.

I met her while visiting Stefano. Every time I'd visit I would go hang out with her for a few days. We bonded almost instantly. She looks just like a black feral cat that I had back in California (named also "Sasha") who passed away in 2006. Same temperment and size and everything!

I cannot wait to return to Italy and see her. Last time I was there (September 2011), she saw me leaving to go home and she jumped at me and wrapped both her arms around my leg and would not let go. When I got free she did it again. 3 times! I had already fed her fresh chicken and so her tummy was full, so it was not food she wanted. She really wanted just to go home with me. For the rest of the night she traveled to where I was staying at Stefano's and meowed all night for me. I stood at the bedroom window watching her. She stopped meowing and fell asleep down below my window. I was in tears as I had to leave to go back to America. I love her and she loves me. The day after I left, she returned back to the window and meowed for me, but I was already gone.

My dad died a few days ago and I have been a little numb. And I often wondered if Sasha was still there, ok, healthy, alive?
I am happy to say that Stefano saw Sahsa recently and filmed her and sent this video to me. Here she is, she is beautiful, healthy, and still wild and free in the forest there in Italy. What a great gift, Ti grazie Stefano (NK)! This is the best gift I could ever receive after the news of my dad.
