30 years later he's still the gold standard. he actually wrote albums worth of songs. all these youtube shredders can move their fingers but they can't write anything worth listening to. when all you "less is more" people order a pizza do you order just dough? why not? less is more. if you can't play shreddy stuff then you have absolutely no right to even talk about it. because if you could play like this you would.

I used to have this on tape back in 89-90. I now remember there was too much crowd noise in the editing and can still hear it 20 years later.It's cool to finally see that same exact recording live after all of those years. Yngwie is an amazing player.

I love that Yngwie laid back and put a ton of soul in the solo and did not try to burn the sun with million mile an hour riffs. I love him when he plays like this. I appreciate his chops as well but it take more control to play a solo like this than a super fast one sometimes.

One of the reasons why Malmsteen gets bashed is because of his lack of discipline. Part of being a great musician is knowing when not to play something. In this video Malmsteen shows that he is capable of being great. He should play like this more often and not try to play a million notes per second all the time. That stuff gets old real quick.
