@hello9949 I do understand why the Americans use their Dodge Chargers, CVPIs and massive Ford F-350s, because pretty much everything out there has a V8 or is a pick-up truck. (I'm not joking, everything I saw/heard was either a pickup or some sort of Ford Mustang/Muscle car) Very few Nissans and Hondas out there.

@hello9949 Actually, Dodge Chargers, at least from what I've seen are slowly being integrated into loads of the small town Departments. My wife lives in a 2,000 population town in Alabama, and they just bought a new charger, and the next town over bought 2.
Mind you, they were using CVPI from the early 00s and a Chevy Impala and also a Ford Explorer K-9 they bought from Hoover, AL PD

@evanthemack If the armed response unit have to urgently get out the car they would have the firearms in their hands except the driver obviously but if they were to surround a building or something they would keep the firearms in the boot and take them out when they get to the scene.
-
@evanthemack British police wouldn't normally transport prisoners to a police station by car most of the time they would put them in a van. The firearms of a police armed response unit would be transported in the boot (trunk) but if they have to immediately get out the police passengers would hold on to their firearm.

@evanthemack I don't live in London but where I live in the UK the police drive Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Evo, Mitsubishi Lancer and Vauxhall Insignia VXR.
-
@evanthemack I bet Dodge Charger police cars are rare. British police don't ram cars off the road which can possibly put people in danger. Police in a pursuit here would either close roads or block the car in using multiple police cars.
-
@evanthemack London police also drive BMWs so in comparison American police cars are old pieces of shit.

@muhkuh2005 because most UK police vehicles dont have a siren control box where you could pick a siren you have to activate the siren using the horn button and you have to keep pressing it say if you need to find your yelp or wail, plus using the horn also keeps up the awareness of the police vehicle if the siren isnt on

What's everybody's issue with this car? It's not the car that matters, it's the two hardy coppers stepping out who you really want to think about.
At stupid etc lightbar - these are Met Police's cheapo beat cars, which they have to buy in the hundreds in order to meet London's demands. They can't really afford to decorate them all up for Christmas (although the newer beat cars do actually have LED lightbars).
At green lightbar - it only appears green because of the lighting conditions. The lights are indeed blue.
At no comparison for the CVPI - no, it isn't, and it doesn't do the same jobs either. We have traffic cops for that.

@lanegane Are they gay? Did they make an advance at another rotor lightbar of the same sex?
