A town sewage line broke today on Longhill Road in Groton spilling sewage onto sidewalks and the road. Emergency crews closed the road in front of H and R Block to start cleanup around 3p.m. Saturday afternoon. The Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department hosed down the roads to clean up the mess after a Groton Utilities crew pumped more sewage out from underneath. The roads opened back up to traffic at 4p.m when the stinky situation was diffused.
