@GADOLCHIK2008 There is a new CD available called 'Jubiläumsalbum zum 80. Geburtstag ' with reference to his 80th birthday on 09/27/2011, but in tv there will be no tribute to Freddy as he has retiered from public after the death of his wife in 2008

Freddy,Du fehlst mir.Freddy Du fehlst bestimmt vielen Deiner Fans...Freddy Du hast mich in meiner Jungend begleitet mit herrlichen Liedern die ich nie vergessen werde...Kann nicht verstehen das es so still geworden ist um Dich. Wo bist Du ? Hast Dich einfach so mal zurückgezogen..warum ? Wäre schön zumindest zu wissen ob es Dir gut geht.

Sooo this makes him ....mhmm 80??? There are severel different "stories" about his date of birth. I also read something 'bout 1933. Then other stuff like being born in Pula, Jugoslawien. Wonder what happen to that piece of info. That was one of his very first biographies he supposed to have written by himself.

Oh well, but whatever the TRUTH is, we, his fans love him no matter when and where he was born, thank god he was born... he's the greatest singer in my book.

Freddy made a personal appearance in Chicago in 1971 at the old Davis Theatre...my mother and grandmother wanted to see him and get his autograph on his latest album so they got in line with some 200 other women and waiter their turn. My older brother and I hung out with Freddy at the front of the line. Finally this older lady who had been in line asked if he "was the singer" Freddy winked at us and said to her "Nein Ich bin der Vater"...we busted out laughing. He has a great sense of humor!
