Ansett Australia was the best airline Australia had! Better than Qantas And Virgin Blue!!! It was Absolutely Air New Zealand fault they collapsed!

The New Zealand Govt are responsible for destroying the worlds best airline.

Air New Zealand bought Ansett as a way to enter the Australian domestic market after the Australian government reneged on the "open skies" agreement. Ansett had been starved of investment before Air New Zealand took over (old aircraft and systemic problems) - Air New Zealand nearly folded as it tried to prop Ansett up, but the financial drain was too much, especially with new competition from Virgin Blue. Air New Zealand needed a government bail-out and remains in partial state ownership today.

i wish i completely remembered by a320 flight on ansett, thanks alot air new zealand, i hope air nz shuts down for what they did, not mostly about the airline, but how their stupid doings affected 16000 people, i call it corporate murder, but air nz gets the bail. as they say, what goes around comes around (hint at gary toomey and air new zealand.)

Qantas had nothing to do with it! It was the sheep shaggers. Also Ansett and Qantas did all the dirty tricks together. They are the ones who killed Compass and Kendell!

Wonderful Video. Sadly, both aircraft like the airline, now long gone. A320-211 VH-HYH scrapped June '07, Greenwood. B747-312 VH-INH scrapped '01.
