  • I heard both Sills and Peters hundreds of times, and I never found their voices particularly similar. Both were unmistakeable and unforgettable. Happy birthday dear Roberta! Thank you for hundreds of performances filled with sweet, creamy tone, dazzling staccati and brilliant fioriture. For your beauty and charm, for your talent and superb musicianship and for the hard work you did to make this package all come together. Brava forever. We love you!

  • @MastersoftheOpera you are correct, there is a great similarity to the tone of Sills and Peters. Good observation, both amazing.

  • Thank You(a big thank you) for this amazing compilation!

I knew she had a wonderful voice, but now I have to change that to GREAT voice.

I first discovered her on a Magic Flute conducted by Bohm, she was(obviously) an amazing Queen of the Night.

I don't remember her singing in London, did she restrict herself to the US?

At least we can recapture her on CD and video/DVD.

She is 80 now and has(it seems) never officially retired.

    Good for her.

  • and yes, I know that there are two "m"s in committed, my typing is just too fast!

  • What a wonderful compilation of Roberta's art! She is, IMO, in especially good voice in the Caro Nome and Doll Song clips, where the extreme top sounds beautifully connected to the rest of the voice. She was a comitted artist par excellence--you can see how much thought and work has gone into every facet of her performing.

  • Flautist needed to get closer to the mic. Just a technical note. Beautiful singing.

  • An excellent sample. I only saw her on stage as Gounod's "Juliette" and she was wondeful vocally and visually. I think at times her lyrical singing was more impressive than her coloratura but she had high notes to spare

  • das ist wundabar! danke.

  • Coloraturafan obrigada pelos videos

    thanks!

  • One of the great light coloratura sopranos of her time...and still singing very well in her late 70s!
