Since posting, learned that the player, not the flash drive, determines if playlist is followed. Thanks, Samsung, your answer confirms this.
Found out in my case that the problem is with how Media Center is syncing to the flash.

Thanks for the video. I have a boombox which plays music from a thumb drive. I use Media Player to transfer it as this video shows, except by dragging playlists to transfer. Most songs transfer fine but then not played in order of the playlist.
