Blom made an error in assuming that his opponent was smart enough to actually slow play an ace there and thus be bluffing when he raises...or to be smart enough to realize his Ace-nothing trips was no good when his opponent comes back over the top of him like that...instead of making the donkey "shrug, my hand matches the board, i call" response. This is Blom's instinct from playing for millions of dollars versus other prodigies betraying him.
