I believe when he says "I push it this way instead of this way" he is saying the correct way to finger tip push versus the wrong way to do it (proper stabilization vs. twisting spine). It looks like he abducts his right thigh to bring that force in to meet with the fingertip push, so the two meet together. Is that what you see? He never mentions kick stabilization and neither does his book. The force of the kick stabilization is supposed to go into the bench as taught by the Seminar.
