Beer drinkers raise a pint to toast April 7, 2008, the 75th Anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition for beer! This clip is August A. Busch Jr.'s national radio address on KMOX CBS Radio at 12:01 a.m. April 7, 1933, and includes images and video from the repeal celebration at St. Louis' Budweiser brewery.

  • And so April,7 2008 in effect represented the final celebration of Anheuser Busch as an American icon. The St.Louis brewery on this date threw a party for its workers on the brewery campus on a beautiful 80 degree day in recognition of the 1933 repeal of prohibition. This was salaried and union. A rarity in itself right there. Budweisers were handed out at will. Looking back on this day it's almost as if August Busch IV knew the end was near. In a mere seven months the Inbev deal was sealed.
