  • RR and Ben Harper have some serious lap/pedal steel talent. You guys should also check out Thomas Oliver. That little white boy can play some lap steel, and sing pretty good as well. Seems that steel slide playing is becoming more and more prominent, which is good, because popular music needs a serious change.

    One of Thomas Oliver's songs. watch?v=Cp _2T46BVsk

  • 13:30 the lady is a fucken biatch!

  • @PlayingMusically To bad she died... Now what will He Play?? Maybe he can strap Mavis Staples big ass on to the Stage and play her!!

  • When he hit that fuzz pedal and did that bluesy heavy thing I almost came.

  • Must be a bitch breaking a string on that 13 string....damn

  • bad - ass

  • This guy is such a badass.

  • 7:32 until about 8:08...that is what it is all about...kickin ass!

  • great lesson

  • If you have a pedal steel guitar and you want to experiment with the ebow you're better off if you try it with a lap steel bar (like the one R.R. uses in this video) instead of the much heavier, bigger, bullet shaped standard pedal steel bar. The light weight and the side grooves on the lap steel bar will give you much more control for those fast gospel style riffs. Oh yeah...and check out Home Depot for those brackets & duct tape. I'm gonna pass on the farts. My playing stinks enough as it is!
