LOVE THE BASSIST FACIALS. it's like he's playing heavy metal. hahaha oh the 80s
-
The key is in Low F and I think the whistle is a Kerry tuneable.

Is it just me or does the guy on bass looks like he should have been on Father Ted? ;)
-
Why is that windbag James Galway famous and this guy is not?
Fantastic musician.

@feilimb Cormac's memory must be playing tricks! The first tune is The Shores of Lough Gowna, the second in the set (which is missed out here) is Aoibhneas Ui Cheallaigh. He recorded them on The Long Long Note. In any case, Sporting Paddy is a reel.
-
Isn't this 'Shores of Loch Gowna'?
-
have you got tab for this
-
Yeah Kerry or Tony Dixion, its possible to do it in D just transpose the key although i wish people would do a tab for stuff like this
-
It's not a kerry but an overton. on chiffandfipple was interviewed Cormac.
Who made your Overton F?
Well, it is an Overton, or "new" Overton whistle which I got cut by Cillian Ó Briain to fit a "tuner" - an aluminum slide on it. It is a very temperamental instrument which would drive any Sound Engineer mad as the tone changes so often in studio!

whatr key of whistle is he playing in dose anyone know
thanks
Is this jig recorded on a Deiseal album, or was this just a live set? Can someone give me the name of the original jig with 100% accuracy? It would also be great to know what Deiseal has named this track if it has been recorded.

Cormac tells me the tracks are "Adele" and "Sporting Paddy", and these tracks were recorded some years later on his album Musical Journey (but not with the other musicians in this video)
