I keep fearing you might get weary of fighting our fight, or worse, be silenced or sabotaged in some way. You are really making a name for yourself...up here in Canuckland too. Folks see how committed you are, and start listening...thx, Philly

The true purpose of government is to protect personal freedom and enhance it by distributing (not redistributing!) the advantages that derive from the division of labor and use of our technological heritage. Not knowing what your job is, I still don't get what you mean by "sweat" and "fruits". Machinery and robots do most of the "sweat-work" these days.

I agree that currently government is serving perverted ends, but, alas, the majority of people are just looking for a piece of this action.

The system is designed to steal the sweat of my brow, the fruits of my labor and give it to someone else. That is the purpose of government - to steal from people who aren't in the government and give it to the people in the government and their friends. Maybe you can catch my meaning by the context. Maybe not.

I read through a lot of really stupid comments on youtube, but this one... anyway I got a good laugh imagining the person who typed it.

I don't see why you would make such a connection. Austerity likely means that you won't have an opportunity to work (not a disastrous thing as long as you have another life-sustaining source of income) or that, if you produce something yourself, you probably won't find buyers for it. Also, taxes on people with incomes will probably increase because the base will shrink, and remember that RP is a staunch advocate of "balancing the budget".

I'm not sure what you mean by "the fruits of my labor".

I believe this is a very apt comment. Rational analysis and reform could solve allegedly intractable monetary problems, without the need to shut down the economy. Financiers have designed the current accountancy rules. Since they don't seem to be working out very well for the population in general, a fundamental revision seems to be in order.
