A guy ran his towboat & barge aground in a farmer's field on a falling river.He called the office to ask what he should do & the port captain said"Take up farming.You're fired!".
6 months later,they were able to get the boat & barge back into the river and stop paying rent to the farmer.

i would tend to believe this is a tidal marsh, and was JUST covered in water and an inattentive skipper went over it at speed, dragging the bottom until he hung up, then the tide went out.
