This is the old trailer for v1.0 HL1 mod The Trenches.

Since some time, the developers of this mod had some real life problems like school, job, etc. That is why the mod is dead apparently. I'm sure it can be downloaded from ModDB, but as some comments say, no one plays it any more.

@Joeofthejungle24 It is only a boring war for those who only know of the trench warfare. The war was anything but boring. There were majior offncives. Entire hills were blown to level ground due to engineered digging under them and planting espolosives. Tanks abnd aircraft were first seen on the battlefield. Gas, Flame throwers. There was urban combat. Machines guns were intruduced and the Sub machine gun saw its first use. The war was anything bur boring.

@seftsgs There is a reason that there are no games in ww1, it was a very strategically boring war. The interest in it generally comes from the ordeals and suffering of those involved.

The Trenches was a really nice mod, small but nice. There has also been a TT-Tournament I took part with my clan... good old days :-)

@PS3fan486 World War 1 was mostly bolt-action rifles. Of course you have pistols, and the German MP18 SMG and shotguns near the end of the war.
