Indeed but Magnificent Seven and Bug's Life were great remakes/tributes to this masterpiece
-
intresting enough, this is actually a western genre film

@KoaToka yeah, me and one of my friends dads were talking about this movie and he asked what movie we were talking about and i said seven samuari he looks at me and says "you mean lucky seven?" it was really sad

Awesome! I have got to see Akira Kurosawa's movies! I would've gotten Yojimbo when i was at Border's the other day, but it was 37 bucks. So i got Once Upon A TIme in The West, which takes from classic westerns like The Magnificent Seven, wich is a remake of Seven Samuri.
Remember the classics.

@KoaToka Akira Kurosawa made it and John Sturges “officially” remade it for Americans , so you can’t say he “copied” it, he made his movie under the permeation of Kurosawa. Akira Kurosawa even told Sturges that he loved The Magnificent Seven and presented him with a samurai sword + at that time many Japanese fellows didn't even like Kurosawa, they nicknamed him “tennō” to create an image of Kurosawa as a director who abuses his power solely for the purpose of self-indulgence.
