Ahhrghhh... it means they are Cantonese characters which sound like the words on their right. The o stands for "Mouth," a frequent feature in Cantonese. You have to know the sound of the word AND the meaning of the sound of the word when it's another word, to know what it means. Simple, eh? Why oh why doesn't Mac have the software for notepad with Canto characters?
