Canada's own level of poverty needs to be addressed before we can start worrying about other nation's poverty. 17.8% of children in Canada under 6 years and 18.4% of children under 1 year of age are living in poverty according to 2000 Statistics Canada data (Campaign 2000).
These levels only increase in aboriginal peoples, and people with disabilities. Some findings with these groups show a high of 60-90% living in poverty.

ugh, please stop this ridiculous campaign for foreign aid!
foreign aid is unbelievably harmful, and demolishing the countries that it goes to. be smart about it, don't support this. if you actually care about those countries that this money is going towards you will not support this campaign.

The comments on this video truly show why Canada is no longer admired as it once was as a progressive leader in the world. Angry neo-cons can't stand the fact that a majority in Canada still care about ending poverty by simply raising our foreign aid to the .7 percent that we promised over and over again. So much for commitment and promises. Canada is an embarrassment on the international stage thanks to the jokers we have in Ottawa. Time for a change!

How could such nice caring talented people make such a useless sucky video, c'mon, cheer up, kick some ass, kiss somebody, have a little joy on the way, and by the way, what's the .7 percent for?
Robin Hood had it right.

stop foreign aid!!! money saved should be spent on canadians; increase old age and canada pension benefit, better pay for military, reduce business taxes to create jobs, eliminate GST...and for the bleeding hearts: send your own money to third world countries!!!

the only bullshit I see is the person who needlessly comments on a video that means so much. why people like you feel the need to make such comments is beyond me. Your comments are pointless
I volunteered for UNICEF through the '90's & now help fundraise for a friends' orphanage in Zambia. I find it profoundly disturbing that not only have we NOT made a difference in the fight against starvation, death, poverty ... but the statistics are even worse. One child dies every three seconds, of starvation, I remember being horrified by every minute. As Canadians we have to hang our head in shame on our failure to honour our committment. As a voter, I will remember this next election.

You want to do something about poverty think globally, act locally! You want to help give away your own money not Canada's
