This is now used By Jim French for his Radio drama P.I. named Harry Nile set from the 40,s in LA to the 50,s -60,s in Seattle great stuff great song thanks
Fine work. Thanks for sharing. I like the raspy voice over, as it sets the mood. I have, however, two minor suggestions. Make a few dissolves a bit slower. Second, don't always made an edit on the beat. The mood, I suspect, will play better if we cannot anticipate it will be done on a bar change. Keep the mysterious voice...into the night, no place special to go to, part...sadly, we've all been there. Okay, one more idea. A trenchcoat, says a lot, without words. Thanks..
One of David Shire's best film scores, it is gorgeous throughout. And Mitchum is terrific in this movie, wearier than ever. Leif Anderson was excellent at picking theme songs. The other were "Smoke Rings" with the Casa Loma Orchestra (there are many versions by them but only one is perfect), and "Until the real thing comes along" with Van Alexander. Check'em out! Leif ol' buddy you are sorely missed.
WOW! This version is gorgeous! I can't say enough about this theme or this score. And the movie's pretty fantastic, too. It would be a wonderful double-bill with Chinatown!
I used to listen to "Smoke RIngs" and Leif Anderson on radio. He has passed now, and an era of wonderful radio shows has come to an end. Fortunately, they broadcast re-runs of old shows every summer.
Jag saknar Leif"smoke Rings"Anderson och hans så fruktansvärt bra program R.I.P
