From the "Takes A Little Time" maxi single. Yes, I was a fanatic.

Now knowing the Canaanite origin of this name, this is a little weird. I expected the drinking of blood, and sacrifice of babies.

That last verse is particularly brutal.

It's beautiful music, regardless.

  • The El Shaddai of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was clearly not the same El of the Canaanaites. That's like a Christian stating that their idea of Jesus is the same as a Mormon's idea of Jesus. Fail.

  • @TruthCeeker333 If you can provide some evidence backing up the claim you've asserted, I'll seriously consider it. If the difference is as clear as you claim, this should be a fairly simple task.

  • @violentlygraceful My evidence is the book of Genesis. Look at the El of the Bible and compare it to the gods of the the Ras Shamra tablets. Clearly they are not the same gods. I don't know how much more basic I can state it.

  • @TruthCeeker333 That's an assertion without any evidence to back it up. Saying "clearly they are not the same" doesn't make it so.

  • El Shadi would not sond as good if AMY wasn't singing it and stay Cool Amy

  • @violentlygraceful Just as stating that they are the same god is an assertion as well. Peace be with you.
