Part 2- A man of character who counted for a lot. I hope he knew how much he was loved. a smaller role of the show that he filled with a big heart.

@Moredice ..Thanks Dice, and I do agree with you that his was by no means a small part in terms of his presence on the show, which is why I expressed it as small (supporting actor) "role" specifically in relation to his number of appearances and amount of dialogue versus the other actors.

By no means did it regard the quality of his contribution. In my eyes Dons "Hammond" was the cornerstone character of the shows quality/integrity. I understand where your coming from and I completely agree.

@nighttrek Allow me to respectfully say, that I find his role in the show to be by no means any small part. He was a great actor, and I agree with you that he will be sorely missed.

Part 1-a...Part 1-I only now learned of Dons death. I've been as of late a bigger fan of Stargate SG-1 than before because of the "integrity floor" of the show I always felt with General Hammon, Dr. Frashier and O'Neill. I should restate that comment..a fan of the original Stargate cast.

I looked up Don because I started realizing how much more of a quality man he was.

Part 1-b... It is so sad now to find this out. I grew up in the seventies, and I think people of my generation keep a eye out for whats left of this type of quality.

Don was a breath of fresh air. I'm truelly sorry to find this out.
