@HK379 You can't tell a dog that it's going to die and the dog is just going to be okay with it. She didn't know what the space program was. She had no clue why there were strange things poking her, strange people handling her, or why she was being put in a large metal box. And when she was put into orbit, she had no clue why she was so hot or why she was overheating. She died a slow death and no, she did not know why. She is not a hero. Just another victim of the Russian Spaceflight missions.

@cesardominguez Every day in my family we do the one minute of silence for Laika and every single single dog they sent up there !!!

Unsure what to think about this ... certainly has some funny moment and roughly sums up the history, but has a way too dark by-taste.
I.e. you should have noted that stray dogs were choosen for a reason and/or how Dr. Vladimir Yazdovsky took her home a day prior so his kids could play with her.
Also ... why is there no mentioning of Pchyolka and Mushka ... or how Strelka's siblings live on to this day?
Quite one-sided.

«Era rusa y se llamaba Laika,
ella era una perra muy normal.
Pasó de ser un corriente animal
a ser una estrella mundial...»
