Lyrics:

Oh, when the sun beats down
And burns the tar up on the roof
And your shoes get so hot
You wish your tired feet were fireproof
Under the boardwalk
Down by the sea, yeah
On a blanket with my baby
Is where I'll be

(Under the boardwalk) Out of the sun
(Under the boardwalk) We'll be having some fun
(Under the boardwalk) People walking above
(Under the boardwalk) We'll be falling in love
(Under the boardwalk, boardwalk)

In the park you hear
The happy sound of the carousel
You can almost taste the hot dogs
French fries they sell
Under the boardwalk
Down by the sea, yeah
On a blanket with my baby
Is where I'll be

(Under the boardwalk) Out of the sun
(Under the boardwalk) We'll be having some fun
(Under the boardwalk) People walking above
(Under the boardwalk) We'll be falling in love
(Under the boardwalk, boardwalk)

[Instrumental Interlude]

Oh, under the boardwalk
Down by the sea
On a blanket with my baby
Is where I'll be

(Under the boardwalk) Out of the sun
(Under the boardwalk) We'll be having some fun
(Under the boardwalk) People walking above
(Under the boardwalk) We'll be falling in love
(Under the boardwalk, boardwalk)

  • I'm proud to listen to music of the 60s, 70s and 80s. I'd rather listen to stuff like this than repetitive annoying beats with lyrics about sex, hangovers, alcohol and drugs.

  • @laura1995533: I'm 13 and this is the only kind of music i listen to

  • When this comes on the oldies station at work, it makes me think of relaxing with my lady on the beach drinking rum and punch. Beautiful song.

  • @Crome267 1964 was in the 50's? Well, now I know.

  • @ralphyboy25 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @RealJeep Ok, so when Jerry Lee Lewis was singing "Whole lot of shakin' going on" he was really talking about ....um...... shaking hands?

And when he sang "Great Balls of Fire" he was singing about ............ um .......?

And when Chuck Berry asked 'Maybellene' why she don't do "those things" she used to do, he was talking about.........um........baking rhubarb pies?

    Yes, all truly innocent times.......

  • @Gleriot but.... this is from the '50s

    Dx

  • Sorry to ruin your sexual fantasies kiddies but "having some fun" in 1958 did NOT mean sex, It was a much more innocent time. Gay meant happy, making love meant kissing and cuddling and the world is totally up-side down now days!

  • This song makes me think of the night life on well, the boardwalk.

  • Under the Boardwalk. With a schlong in Jan's mouth Tony Soprano classic

  • lol

  • @mightilamb Yes, the references were certainly there - just a little more subtle back then. And surely more melodic than a lot of today's claptrap.
