footage from my old VHS movie converted to DV - sorry about quality. But I hope the idea comes across ok.
I conceived the idea for these towers after losing the use of my arms - surgical techinques evolved and an operation got me going again albeit with a loss of strength and power in my arms. The invention of a new style of tower was my only real hope of continuing my radio hobby and the "One Man Tower" was invented in 1984 - hundreds are now in use around the world.

In the event these aren't available from VK4KKD. hopefully VK4KKD could be persuade to release the design, plans, drawings etc. to the open source community,

- unfortunately in this world of stupid litigation suits that is an action fraught with potential problems. It's not rocket science, so anyone should be easily able to replicate the design. Main thing now days is that tower builders should consider the exponential increases in severe weather conditions world wide. Any tower built today needs to be built to a higher structural integrity than those we used to build 30 years ago. The OMT Mk.15 were 40% stronger than the Mk. 1.

fair enough I suppose Constructing tower sections is easy enough Rather than using a gin pole you are using an elevator of sorts. Without a clearer view of the elevator it's a bit difficult to discern how you went about that. No matter

Yep - all easy - the "gin pole" is fine for erecting a tower or hoisting an antenna to the top of a fixed tower - but it is the "slide carriage" which makes the OMT so super versatile. The slide carriage gives the ability to self erect the modular tower sections then once erecting is complete remove the self ercting jig and fit the rotator mount/strongback which then carries the antenna and rotator up and down the face of the tower. "Progressive strength" is the key though for system

Im sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but when you go to the website there is a message apologizing that the Towers Are No Longer Being Made. What a shame that was an incredible idea
