The seamy side is more real if you mean to compare it to beautiful like pristine b/c nothing here is... especially the longer we live. Well, nature is... but we aren't. Portrayals as such sort of gloss over (like the photo-shopped pic I love to display). For me at least, I can't immerse in the darker parts -it causes me to lose hope. For me, the best works show a balance -a realism between the variances within our humanity. IDK...BTW I like the poem -thanks for sharing. :)
