  • This is the quintessential fable, told in modern dramatic cinema. It is nothing more or less than that. Those who do not like it probably do not understand that. "I wanted to believe more than most"......... Indeed. Does that not tell us something of the writer?

This is a film made without modern cynicism. And, unfortunately, it is not well-received because modern cynicism is so very prominent.

  • @cmc10101 i agree

  • Really, he just needs to get back to his strong point: being the guy who makes movies about the great hurt of powerlessness being overcome by the realization that your life is extremely important, you have a role no one else can fill, and that there is some weird type of magic in the world that guides you to that role. I think all of that is true and awesome... although "The Last Airbender" made me question if life is really that great. That movie sucked.

  • I don't this movie was very good, but this scene is just weird and beautiful and kind of shows that shyamalan is capable of things other filmmakers are not. If only he can actually get back to making movies that are good all the way through. I don't think he has made his last good movie ("the village" until the last five minutes at this point).

  • Gotta love the highest rated comment. "Derrr peple who dun lyke dis m000vie juzt dunt unnerstand it." Yeah, seen that cliche before. I guess all the thousands of people and critics who called this movie the failure it was just "dunnnn unnnerstanndarddddd it."

  • @bshick07 Yeah, I'm entirely up for, not burning people, but starving and working them to death, and then burning them. You included, as you meet the category of near-useless people.

  • @Tripo1iSamson So you are for burning people alive for being themselves? Carlos Mencia is not funny for me, but I wouldnt would put him in a camp to be put to death. Giamatti is one of the best character actors in the biz. So for you to say he sucks is hilarious. He is good at pretending to be somebody. Or he wouldnt be in feature films, multiple times. Dope.

  • I LIKE MUSIC !

  • Oh gee, once again something that has like a 6% Rotten Tomatoes rating and Paul "I suck really bad" Giamatti is adored by it's loving youtube fans, how surprising. This is just more proof that we need to open concentration camps, and let's put fans of Carlos Mencia and this movie in them.

  • This movie is brutally underrated. Proof that man does not always listen very well...
