who'd have thought after all these years and the evolution of music we'd still be desperate to hear the echoes of Karen Carpenter, and it's just arrived!, In my humble opinion, many people can attempt to emulate K.C. but no-one but no-one has her phrasing and breath technique, yet this cracking new talent seems to have captured the sounds of old and made them fresh and new!!! and i'm 38 in case anyone wondered!!!!! happy listening!!!! x

Carpenter certainly had a unique voice and I hear the similarity, but Rumer's sophisticated phrasing & musical sensibility puts her in a different league altogether, IMHO.

@chraze1 I couldn't have phrased it any better. Those of us who are older than you and who grew up watching the Carpenters on Make Your Own Kind of Music and who fell in love with her all those years ago have been secretly hoping someone would come along and capture the spirit of Karen Carpenter and this has finally happened. I was so happy I cried when I heard Rumer's voice coming out of my speakers...

Não faz muito tempo que comecei a ouvir esta cantora a Rumer, mas estou adorando seu estilo músical, me lembra muito a Karen dos Carpenters a sua voz é tão suave como a dela, espero que a Rumer possa trazer um pouco mais de qualidade ao nosso cenário músical, pois a coisa está bem feia nestes últimos tempos, por causa desta música industrializada, algo feito só pra vender e não para encantar...

Só não sei porque ainda não colocaram legendas e traduções nas músicas da Rumer, acho que vale a pena

Im nearly 20 and love her music, cant wait to see her sing in november with friend who is older :) she appeals to a massively wide audience and she makes a change from the usual samey musicians.

I have to agree with chraze1.I was at a friends place when she put on the CD and

I was impressed.We both though about Karen without taking anything from Rume.I

must say I am happy to hear some new great music.Weiter so!!
