hey um i had my bird for just about a year now and he is very jumpy still. I got him from my friend and he lived with other birds before and i dont know if thats it. Also, I was considering getting another bird since he is all alone during the week when I go to school, and my parents go to work. Do you think its a good idea? I really hope you can reply cause i really need this advice.

@j0eytodamaxx
I find working with a bird every day will help with the jumpiness. As far as another bird, yes that's great since nobody is home for most of the day. Budgies are very social, and it's best to have two unless you can almost constantly be there for one.

@BudgieWorld ahhh thanks! I cant believe u actually replied! thanks so much im heading to a breeder tommorow to check some out! :D Also while i got u here, what do i need to breed parakeets? I think a nesting box right?

@j0eytodamaxx
I actually wouldn't reccomend breeding, if that's what your thinking, unless you do almost years of research and have lots of funds, I mean hundreds of dollars. It really is an expensive and risky process. :)

Ok well im back but so if I do get my budgie to start stepping up like how u did it on ur current step up video, how do I know when I can take it out of the cage? Without it flying off

@Live0n1
It's probably always going to fly off eventually, that's just what birds do. But you can take him/her out whenever you feel your both ready. It helps to have them tamed a little bit at least, because then it's easier to get your bird back in.
