.. I have been thinking about this issue (English & French in Quebec & the Bill 101) a lot lately. And I almost started to think that 1) French people have the hardest time to learn English among all other linguistic groups in the world 2) French people get some kind of electric shock torture when they hear English words 3) regardless of the language, people in Quebec are the most stubborn and obsessive in the entire globe. What on earth is the big deal with a language? Is English that horrible?

What a great idea - after a few fines are issued, you wouldn't have anymore arrogant insistence on speaking English to francophone customers against their will - though, obviously, people would still be free to speak English if they both wanted to... Make these arrogant anti-francophones pay, and that way there will be a large governmen surplus, and everybody else can pay less taxes! :)

@hondacivic1992 That guy is overracting I agree, you can't judge by what this man says, he is totally unrepresentative of the population, that kind of bill would never pass, sure some asshole will support it, but just as an example (I'm not even assuming that you are american) as an example they are large neo-nazi community in the United-State... C'est très xénophobe de penser comme tu le fait. Je suis née au québec de parents québécois du saguenay et je trouve que la poutine c'est dégeulasse et que le hockey c'est plate à en mourire . Dude that guy is crazy, as a french speaking Quebecers I don't give a fuck in what language you greet me. Governement services, (education, healthcare )etc. should be in both language, but putting one of the two languages out is purely racist...
